Africa Tech Festival returns to the Cape Town International Convention Centre from November 16-19, 2026, marking the 29th edition of the continent’s longest-running technology event, according to PR Newswire.
South Africa’s Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Solly Malatsi, headlines the first wave of confirmed speakers alongside Google Africa managing director Alex Okosi, OpenAI Africa lead Emmanuel Lubanzadio and Amazon’s Sub-Saharan Africa managing director Robert Koen.
The festival is organised around six core themes, telecoms and connectivity, data centres, AI, cybersecurity, startups and digital transformation, presented across eight dedicated stages, according to event organisers. “Africa’s digital economy is accelerating at an unprecedented pace, and Africa Tech Festival 2026 is designed to be at the centre of that momentum,” said David Monaghan, VP of Africa Tech Festival.
Additional confirmed speakers include MTN Group chief consumer officer Enzo Scarcella, Tunisie Telecom CEO Norbert Prihoda and Standard Bank Group’s Linda Oniwe, with executives from Vodacom, the African Development Bank and Shoprite Nigeria also on the agenda. “Investment is flowing, partnerships are forming, and the leaders joining us in Cape Town are turning conversation into action on some of Africa’s biggest digital challenges,” organisers said.
