The Financial Times will host the 13th annual FT Africa Summit on October 21-22, 2026, at The Landmark hotel in London under the theme “Mobilising Growth in a New Global Order,” according to event details published by Africa.com.
Dangote Group President and CEO Aliko Dangote headlines the speaker lineup alongside two former African heads of state, ex-Senegal President Macky Sall and ex-Tanzania President Jakaya Kikwete. UK Minister of State for International Development and Africa Baroness Jennifer Chapman, Nigeria’s Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele and Ethiopia’s Finance Minister Ahmed Shide are also confirmed to speak.
“As Africa’s growth begins to outpace much of the world, this year’s agenda examines how governments and businesses can mobilise the capital needed,” FT Africa editor David Pilling said, according to Vanguard. Sessions will cover regional trade deepening, shifting US tariff policy, the expiration of the African Growth and Opportunity Act, and financial self-reliance.
Delegations from South Africa, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Angola, Mauritius, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Cote d’Ivoire and the Democratic Republic of Congo are expected to attend. Organisers point to Africa’s demographics as a central theme, with the continent projected to have the world’s largest working-age population by 2050.
The summit will also address offshore energy discoveries, critical minerals diplomacy, digital economy expansion and manufacturing ambitions tied to rapid urbanisation across the continent. Delegate passes and media accreditation are available through the Financial Times’ events portal.
