Shatta Wale - Ghanian multi-ward winning Dancehall superstar

Ghanaian Dancehall superstar Shatta Wale turned someone else’s beef into his own bank alert. After hosting a TikTok Live where he weighed in on the StonebwoySarkodie feud, he came away with $35,856 in gifts from viewers tuning into the drama.

He didn’t stay quiet about it either. “35,856 dollars on Tiktok, you think say my internet job be play. Thanks to all my gifters,” he wrote on Facebook once the session wrapped, crediting the fans who sent the money his way.

The livestream itself pulled serious numbers. Viewers tuned in as Shatta gave his unfiltered take on the drama, eventually landing in Sarkodie’s corner and even calling on Stonebwoy to issue an apology. It was only after the broadcast ended that the financial side of the story broke, shifting the conversation from who’s right to who’s cashing in.

Two weeks of noise got him there. The feud kicked off in May, when Stonebwoy posted a cryptic line about friendships built on “interests and timing,” widely read as a jab connected to Sarkodie’s public reunion with Shatta Wale in London.

Things escalated fast come September. Stonebwoy dropped a lengthy post on X accusing Sarkodie of disrespect and selective loyalty, revisiting old grievances including claims around the Telecel Ghana Music Awards and a since-viral detail about jollof rice served during a reconciliation visit.

Sarkodie didn’t take it lying down. He fired back within hours, denying the accusations and pointing to invitations he’d extended to his own show as proof there was no bad blood. His manager, Angel Town, later joined in too, posting WhatsApp screenshots meant to contradict Stonebwoy’s version of events.

Somewhere in the middle of all that, jollof rice became a punchline. Memes flooded timelines mocking the idea of Sarkodie showing up at Stonebwoy’s house for a plate of rice, forcing Sarkodie to respond with a viral clip of a preacher delivering a theatrical warning to his critics.

Shatta Wale had stayed out of it for months, despite being tangled in the backstory himself. His own reunion with Sarkodie in London was what set the whole thing off in the first place.

When he finally spoke, he made it count, both in views and in dollars.
