On Tuesday 7th February 2023, Chelsea took on Borussia Dortmund in a crucial Champions League encounter at Stamford Bridge. The London-based team put on a dominant display, coming away with a 2-0 victory to secure their place to progressed from five Champions League ties after losing the first leg.
Chelsea started the game with intensity, creating several opportunities early on. They were finally able to break the deadlock in the 43nd minute, when striker Sterling cored a brilliant goal.
Dortmund tried to respond, but Chelsea’s defense held strong, limiting the visitors to few chances. In the second half, Chelsea continued to press forward, and they were eventually rewarded with a second goal which came as a controversial penalty in the 53rd minute. This time it was Mason Mount who got on the scoresheet, tapping in a cross from Callum Hudson-Odoi.
