Oma Osele is Miss Continental World 2026.
The 28-year-old medical laboratory scientist, entrepreneur and model from Lagos took the crown at the grand finale in Ayutthaya, Thailand. The final was held on October 9, and India’s Shreeya Panda finished first runner-up, with Thailand’s Pornpaya Rianju placing second runner-up.
She did not leave empty-handed beyond the crown. Osele had already picked up the Queen of Africa award as the highest-placed African contestant, and she won Best National Attire for her cultural costume. One night, three trophies.
Her route to Thailand started at home. She represented Nigeria after winning EliteGlam Pageant Nigeria 2025. Then came a campaign that built steadily. In September she topped the global fan vote on Eventista’s 1Vote platform to win the World Premiere Award, beating India’s Monica Konjengbam and Thailand’s Pornpaya Rianju. The prize included social media promotion and an AP News press release. Fans had already shown their hand before the judges did.
Nigeria had a busy night in Ayutthaya. Unwana Sambo Essien finished third runner-up at Mister Continental World 2026, which was held the same night, and he also took the King of Kings title and the male category’s Best National Attire award.
Then there is the history. Per QED.NG, this was the inaugural edition of the pageant, which makes Osele the first woman to hold the Miss Continental World title. Nobody else can claim that.
The win also adds to Nigeria’s recent run on the international pageant circuit. Chidimma Adetshina’s first runner-up finish at Miss Universe 2024 is the most recent reference point. The pattern is getting hard to ignore.

Osele’s profile is unusual for the stage. Lab coat by training, entrepreneur by choice, model by trade. Her full name is Iruomachukwu Osele. Few contestants arrive with that mix, and she carried all of it into the final.
For now, Thailand has its champion and Lagos has its pride. Osele is expected back in Nigeria in the coming days. The welcome home should be loud.
