Say Accusations Sponsored by Monarch

The concerned youths of Ajiran Community in the Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos, have debunked allegations of the murder of one Sheriff Salami and land grabbing against one of their leaders, Alhaji Hammed Tajudeen.

The allegations were denied during an interview by the Secretary of the Youth Forum, Wasiu Akinsemoyin.

Akinsemoyin claimed that the accusations were sponsored by the monarch, HRM Oba Tijani Akinloye with the aim of dividing and distracting them from their main focus of fighting for accountability, transparency, and development of Ajiran community.

He further stated that the group is ready to support the authorities’ investigation into the cause of the Sheriff’s death.

His words: “The death of Sheriff is a big loss to the youths and all well-meaning indigenes of Ajiran and we are still mourning his loss. So how can anyone now accuse anyone talk less of Hammed of his death when we have no grievance or issue with him?

“We are supporting any form of inquiry into his death and are ready to support the law enforcement agencies to unravel the mystery behind his gruesome murder”.

Akinsemoyin who dismissed the insinuation that he is not an indigene of the Ajiran Community, noted that he is from the Semo Chieftaincy family, one of the seven families that makes up the Ojomu Chieftaincy family.

He explained that the insinuation is a fabrication of a statement authored by one Mr. Alex and his sponsors, Oba Akinloye and Alhaji Yekini Bakare, stating that they are the ones who should prove their indigeneship as regards Ajiran town.

“It is laughable for anyone to say I am not from Ajiran. I am from the Semo Royal House, one of the seven ruling houses in Ojomu. It is Kabiyesi and Alhaji Bakare that needs to prove their own indigeneship’’.

Reacting to the allegation of land grabbing, Akinsemoyin described the accusations as petty, unfounded, and baseless, saying, “How can you accuse sons of the soil, a bonafide indigene of land grabbing”.

He reiterated that the accusations are just a way for the monarch and his cohorts to divert attention from the main issues of basic development and accountability,

He decried the situation whereby a community as rich in resources as Ajiran lacks motorable roads; a school, a hospital or market, and other basic amenities.

The youth leader disclosed that despite letters written to the state government and pleas for the monarch, the Ojomu of Ajiran land, Oba Tijani Akinloye, to intervene, have fallen on deaf ears.

He alleged that instead of bringing development to the community, the monarch sold their lands, claiming all the lands belong to the king and that he has the right to sell any land.
