Nigeria music veteran, Eedris Abdulkareem, Saturday of August, disclosed his wife, Yetunde Abdulkareem is set to be his kidney donor.

It is no news that the Jaga Jaga crooner has been diagnosed with kidney failure and in July of 2022, he went public to announce plans are ongoing for a transplant. The news went public at the Freedom Vibes 6.0 – Eedris Abdulkareem Colloquium organised in his honour at Freedom Park, Lagos by Unchained Vibes Africa and Lakreem Entertainment.

Eedris said:

I am shouting to my wife. I’m talking about the first time we went to see our doctor; the doctor said they don’t encourage kidney harvesting, selling of kidneys and all that, that the donor has to be a family member, a friend, you know; whether your daughter or your brother or your son, you know.

“So right there, my wife decided to take all the tests, and from all the tests she took, everything came out positive that she was compatible with me. So I’m giving God the glory and thank God that I don’t have to wait for one year or two years because I know it’s not easy”.

Meanwhile, he has been battling his kidney failure for a while but as plans and arrangements were made for a possible transplant, the artiste decided to go public with the donor identity who happens to be his wife of 19 years. Eedris and Yetunde Abdulkareem got married in 2003 and currently they are blessed with three (3) children, A boy and two girls.

Eedris wedded his wife in 2003; they have three children together.

Until recently, his wife had managed to maintain a low profile despite being married to a celebrity.

Eedris profoundly expressing his appreciation to his wife, said:

I want to thank my wife, I want to thank Baba Dede Mabiaku, Sister Mariam for putting the GoFundme together, thank my brother Chidi, thank my brother E-money, thank Chief Allen Onyema, thank everybody who has supported me, Nigerians in Diaspora, Nigerians in Nigeria
