In honor of His Majesty King Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi The Celebrated King of Ikateland, Eti-Osa Lagos as he celebrate his birthday, the Managing Director of Sabitex Hotel LTD, Prince, Otunba Salisu Oluwadare Elegushi, one of the kingsmen took the time to celebrate the life and reign of the great king.
Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi is a visionary monarch who has devoted his life to serving his people and improving their lives.
Under his leadership, the Elegushi Kingdom has achieved unprecedented growth and development. From building modern infrastructure to providing basic social facilities, the King has gone to great lengths to provide a better life for his subjects. On his birthday, Otunba Salisu celebrate his devoted service and unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people. Speaking to Royal TV, Otunba said; “His reign is marked by peace, progress and prosperity and the good people of Ikateland are happy with the milestones our king has reached and achieved for the land.”
“It is no doubt that everyone not just in Ikate but across Lagos can attest that the kingdom has become a model of good governance and has attracted tremendous investors from all over the world to Ikateland, which is the secret to the explosive growth you hear people talk about. Of course kudos to our governor who is also kind enough to have the kingdom at heart by making sure all the infrastructures in Ikateland is not only awarded but completed.”

Facts About Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi
- His Majesty King Oba Saheed Ademora Elegushi, Kusenla III, is the 21st Elegushi of the Ikate Elegushi Kingdom of Nigeria. He is descendant of the Kusenla dynasty of Ikateland in Eti-Osa Lagos State.
- At the age of 34, he ascended to the throne, making him the youngest king in Lagos State.
- He succeeded his father, the late Oba Yekini Adeniyi Elegushi, the 20th Oba of Elegushi of Ikateland, who reigned from 1991 until his death in 2009.
- Prior to becoming king, Oba Elegushi served Lagos State as Personal Secretary and senior Special Assistant to former governors of Lagos State, The President Elect, His Excellency Bola Tinubu Ahmed and then governor Babatunde Fashola who is now Federal Minister of Works and Housing of Nigeria.
- Oba Elegushi is married to two wives, Olori Sekinat Elegushi and Olori Hadiza Elegushi.
- The King’s parking lot showcases luxury vehicles such as the famous Rolls-Royce his Phantom, the Mayback 600, and a 1967 Cadillac De Ville.
- He was born on the same day as his late father, Oba Yekini Adeniyi Elegushi, who was the first crowned king of Ikateland.
- He received his elementary (Primary) education at St. Mathias Primary School in Lagos from 1981 to 1987.
- He attended Methodist Boys’ High School in Lagos for his secondary education from 1988 to 1994.
- He proceeded to Lagos State University where he studied economics from 1995 to 2000, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.Sc.) with a Second Class Honours.
- He subsequently pursued and obtained a master’s degree in public administration at the University of Manchester.
- From 2000 to 2002, Oba Elegushi worked as an Administrator in Business Development and Strategy at Elegushi Property Investment Company.
- He was appointed as a Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State and served from 2003 to 2007.
- Oba Elegushi was appointed as Senior Special Assistant (Special Programmes/Duties) to the Governor of Lagos State after his previous appointment as a Special Assistant. He held this position until he ascended to the throne as the king of Ikateland in 2010.
