Africa’s most famous business man, Tony Elumelu who double as a mentor, entrepreneur, serial Investor, Philanthropist and Africapitalist has been on a mission to transform Africa through his family-owned empire, Heirs Holdings.

For more than two decades the business leader has shown his insurmountable flare to wealth creation for Africans and in Africa.

If chance could permit me I thing Tony Elumelu is a product of predisposition who has dared to dream and see that Africa is perceived beyond the lenses of huts and forest-shitholes.

Falomo Mall once upon a time was one of that mall that you could buy just anything you want and because of its locale, it became so special and dare to residents of not just Ikoyi but the whole of Lagos. Another reason the mall became a landmark is the fact it shared fence with one of Africa’s most used and loved telecommunication  company and brand MTN which is also known as MTN Plaza.

But besides MTN Nigeria, Falomo Mall also shares the same location with the Corporate Head Office of Dangote Industries Limited better known as Union Marble House. Then in the middle of this iconic structures is the famous Catholic’ Church Of The Assumption Ikoyi Lagos which was started in 1958 and completed On 17th May, 1960.

The Falomo Shopping Mall redevelopment plan was conceived during the former Lagos State governor, Akinwumi Ambode’s administration but because he (Ambode) was not allowed to complete his tenure of 8 years, the mall suffered a setback until recently when the Lagos State Property Develoment Company (LSPDC) under the leadership of Governor Sanwo Olu entered a partnership with Afriland Properties Plc, a real estate and property management, investment and development child company of Tony Elumelu’s Heirs Holdings to revive and reconstruct the long awaited state of the art facility.

Present at the unveiling of the foundation laying event in Lagos was His Excellency, Babajide Olusola Sanwo Olu and the Managing Director, LSDPC, Hon. Ayodeji Joseph who promised that the partnership with Afriland will make Falomo Mall add up to one of the finest in Lagos and Africa.Meanwhile Tony Elumelu took to his Facebook to share his excitement for these partnership as well as announced date for the commissioning of the iconic Falomo Mall;

Falomo Towers is truly iconic! Heirs Holdings had the sod-turning ceremony, an event to flag off the construction of Falomo Towers, a mixed development high-rise complex in Ikoyi – Falomo Towers being developed in partnership with Afriland Properties and Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSPDC). This project has been a long time coming. It has been a project in the works for over 8 years. Thank you, Governor, H.E Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other leaders of the State for making this a reality. What we are witnessing today attests to 2 things: The belief and support for the private sector to succeed in Lagos state and the power of dialogue and resilience. At the conception of this project, we had our commercial disagreements but we focused on what was important, improving the Lagos skyline. The result is a bigger, better and bolder project every Lagosian would be proud of. The lesson here is when faced with difficult moments and the first thought is to fight, take a step back and reflect again, often times, there is another solution.
