Nigeria In Trouble As: Terrorists Attack Presidential Guards Brigade In Abuja After Threats To Abduct President Buhari

The Terrorists Group who have claimed responsibility for the attack and abduction of many on the  Kaduna Bound train in March 28, 2022 have attacked, killed and kidnapped troops and officers of Presidential Guards Brigade In Abuja few days after  issuing threats To abduct President Buhari and Kaduna State governor El-Rufai.

The Presidential Guard Brigade of the Nigerian Army was formed in September 1962 to act in the capacity as the Federal Guards. The Unite was created for the sole purpose of performing security and ceremonial obligation both in Lagos and Abuja similar to the role the U.S. Secret Service of the United States of America and the British Household Division.

According to Captain Godfrey Anebi Abakpa who is the spokesperson for the Guards Brigade;

They were attacked, and the attack was successfully repelled. We had a few wounded in action who have been taken to the hospital and receiving treatment

Reports reaching betabetanews.com confirmed that the troops were ambushed in the late night  of Monday while on patrol duty at the  Kubwa-Bwari Road in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)  Abuja.

It is no news that this is the second time terrorists will successfully attack government security agencies in the Federal Capital Abuja in the same month. Recently the terror group attacked the Federal prison Kuje and freed over 800 prison inmates including 60 members of the Boko Haram.

Meanwhile, the Kuje prison is where the alleged popular drug dealer super Corp Abba Kyari is also said to have been reminded.

The attack came days after the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) threatened to kill, sell hostages and  Kidnap President Buhari and the governor of Kaduna State Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.

He advised residents of Abuja to go about their lawful businesses and keep cooperating with the military by providing timely information to enable them curb the activities of the criminals.

Captain Abakpa assured the residents of Abuja to be calm and go about their various business.

“At the moment our troops are still combing the general area to get rid of the criminals who have been threatening the general area. It is advised that residents go about their lawful businesses and keep cooperating with us by giving us timely information to enable us win the fight against the criminals,”
